Move a signal up or down and run it through tape. Thicken a vocal with a double, drop an instrument an octave, or lean into a varispeed shift. The tape rounds off the shifted signal so it sits with the original.

What is Pitch Shifter?

Pitch Shifter combines a pitch shift with tape character taken from the Tape Machine engine. Use it for doubled vocals, dropped instruments and varispeed-style shifts.

The Expansion adds Tape Character and Modulation on the shifted signal, plus Spread, Delay and Width for stereo doubles.

It installs with the pack.

Use it on

  • Vocal double Pitch at 0, Fine around 8 cents, Mix 30 to 40%.
  • Stereo double Spread and a little Delay (Expansion). The double sits left and right of the lead.
  • Octave bass Pitch at −12 under a bass or guitar, Mix to taste.
  • Varispeed a few semitones down with Tape Character (Expansion) for a slowed-tape sound.
