What is Tape Reverb?

Tape Reverb is a reverb with tape from the Tape Machine engine on the tail.

The tail loses a little top end and gains density as it decays, so the space sits behind the track. Size and Decay set the room, Mix places it.

It installs with the rest of the pack.

Use it on

  • Vocals medium Size, 20 to 40 ms of Predelay. The words stay clear and the tail fills the gaps.
  • Snare small Size, short Decay (Expansion). A room around the hit.
  • Pads and keys large Size, Tape Age (Expansion) for a worn, drifting tail.
  • Busy arrangements Ducking (Expansion) keeps the tail under the track and lets it bloom between phrases.
